Kirsten Carlson is an artist, illustrator, diver, and science communicator who has been to Antarctica and regularly creates and exhibits art about (among many other marine things) the under-sea life around McMurdo Station. She also designed our project logo in 2019, and also made a shiny version for our 2021 expedition! Visit Kirsten’s web page for other examples of her beautiful work.

Amy Osborne is a K-12 outdoor educator who was embedded in our field project at McMurdo Station in 2019 through the Polar Teachers and Researchers Exploring and Collaborating (PolarTREC) program. She worked with us in the lab and field, helped with the science, and worked with many educational organizations to communicate the importance of polar science to hundreds of students across the US. Check out her PolarTREC web page and blog about our trip, and you can watch a recording of her live PolarConnect broadcast from Antarctica!
